are generally expected to improve the academic performance of the students who participate in this intervention. The mentoring programmes brings together CIT students with the best skills that are available in the industry to allow them to succed at their selected career.  The programme is expected to build their confidence as it exposes them to the peculiarities of their field.  They will be placed with Alumni who work in the IT field as well as with major stakeholders who have a vested interest in the institution.

Mentor and student will get together as often as they like creating the mentoring relationship that works best for them. They may meet as frequently as they wish inhouse or offsite others may choose to communicate primarily over e-mail.

The programme will be managed by the Students Affairs Department who will be required to prepare a schedule that will allow students, and mentors to interface on a consistent basis.

The mentorship programme will provide insight and advice from practitioners in the field who can be an invaluable source of information and inspiration. Mentors are expected to pass along the practical wisdom they've gained from real-world experience. They can act as sources of support, or someone who can give knowledgeable feedback on student ideas.

Mentors will provide answers to questions about anything from choosing a concentration, to acquiring their first job, to balancing work and family life.
